About Newtown Community and Cultural Centre:

If you don’t already know about all the great things that take place at the centre, give us a call (389 4786), visit our website or feel free to also pop by our office (with baked treats and/or fresh coffees in hand) to say hi and have a chat! We offer a range of exercise classes including yoga and tai chi (visit our website’s timetable for details), support groups for mothers, school holiday and mentor programmes for kids and venue hire for private functions, community activities and fundraisers.

We always have plenty of events on the go too! From gigs and theatre productions, to political seminars and educational workshops, there’s often something for everyone going on here! The best way to keep up to date with one-off events is to either like us on facebook or sign up for our fortnightly e-newsletter by flicking us an email. Our centre is also home to a number of other great community organisations, including the Citizens Advice Bureau (with free lawyer and JP service), the Wellington Timebank (with free smiles), and NiuHIB Pasifika (with free budgeting advice).
