An award winning singer-songwriter from Wellington, New Zealand, playing on the Tangata Whenua stage.
Born in the capital city of Wellington to a Māori father and an English mother, Kirsten was raised in an urban area where the Māori population was sparse and the daily speaking of te reo Māori was not the norm. Kirstens’ first album Te Rito was released in 2012 and went on to win awards and nominations at the Waiata Māori Music Awards, and the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
Her song Oranga has had the highest airplay of a Māori language song for two years running. She has also released a new album named Aiotanga.
